Summer Sky Watercolor Workshop, Aug 14th, Sun 2pm

Discover the magic & simplicity of painting with fluid watercolours through this workshop where we make this brightly lit painting of clouds against a bright blue summer sky. Join us as we make this beautiful painting using elements of form and play of light vs dark, while also learning nuances of fluid watercolors, making clouds and creating a sense of distance.

This is a beginner friendly workshop, both absolute beginners as well as seasoned artists because we will be covering the basics of watercolours before we start making the painting. The workshop is for adults as it will be fast paced, but kids above 10 can also register

About the Instructor: Sai Priya Mahajan is an Indian Contemporary Artist who recently won the Outstanding Watercolor Award at the Boldbrush Contest. An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay, she has now exhibited in India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh) as well as internationally (NY, Philadelphia - USA, Toronto-Canada, Taipei-Taiwan) and is part of several Art Associations including the International Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, USA and a lifetime member of the Art Society of India. Sai loves to share the joy of painting by teaching various art forms and has conducted many art workshops in the past.

Rough Schedule First 5 mins - Introduction Next 1 hr - Techniques, strokes & practice exercises Next 1 hr - Painting using learnt techniques Last 5 mins - Wrap up and photos

Materials required:

1. Artist grade Watercolors
2. 1 medium size round brush of size between 6-10, 1 small size round brush of size between 0-3, 1 half inch wash brush or big flat brush,
3. Watercolor paper preferably 250+gsm or thick paper/ sketchbook paper about A4 or 9X12 inches in size
4. Masking tape, a pencil, eraser and Basics like tissues, 2 water containers, some rough papers, hair dryer (optional), and a plate/palette.
5. To get the best results it is preferable to use 300gsm watercolor paper and artist grade watercolors. Any brand of paper & watercolors is fine. Easily available and decent quality options are camlin, brustro, winsor newton

Please be ready with all required materials at least 5-10 mins before the start of the session.

To simplify communication, please register using the participants name and phone number (on which whatsapp is functional). Please note the all timings are in IST (which is GMT+5:30hrs).

Late entries are not allowed. Please familiarise yourself with Zoom and its usage so you can join in on time, and have no trouble during the session. We will be sending you a link 10 mins before the start of the session, on whatsapp, on the number you provided during registration. You can join in to the session through that Zoom link.

Important T&C: The ticket price is per user per session. For example, if two people are attending using one login, please pay for 2 people. Participant has to keep their video on during the session. This ticket is valid only for the said date and time and cannot be used for other workshops. Video recording of workshop is not included. Non-refundable. Tickets once booked, cannot be cancelled/ rescheduled/refunded.
