Modern Calligraphy & Brush Lettering Workshop, Sep 3rd, Sat 2pm

Ever wondered how to write effortlessly pretty fonts? Well.. you have wait no more! Learn to manoeuvre brush pens to write beautiful letters using modern calligraphy. Add this skill of brush lettering to your armour, so you can start creating these amazing art pieces on your own, while also getting an outlet to express and share your thoughts.

During the session we practice the lowercase alphabet in detail followed by creating a piece of artwork, and writing affirmations (or whatever else you'd like to write!) using brushpens. This is a beginner-friendly session, conducted by an award winning artist who's taken over 150+ art workshops, so just bring your learning hat with you and learn to create your own artwork with a magical effect! Prior knowledge of calligraphy is not required. Just a love for calligraphy and an eagerness to learn and have fun is enough for this.

This includes a soft copy of brush lettering practice sheets that you can print out and use for practicing even after the workshop is over and improve on your lettering. These will be sent to you after workshop is over.

About the Instructor: Sai Priya Mahajan is an Indian Contemporary Artist who recently won the Outstanding Watercolor Award at the Boldbrush Contest. An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay, she has now exhibited in India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh) as well as internationally (NY, Philadelphia - USA, Toronto-Canada, Taipei-Taiwan) and is part of several Art Associations including the International Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, USA and a lifetime member of the Art Society of India. Sai loves to share the joy of painting by teaching various art forms and has conducted several art workshops in the past.

Rough Schedule

First 5 mins - Introduction & Quick Demo on Brushpen usage

Next 2 hours - Basics of Brush Lettering and alphabet practice

Next 30 mins - Writing using Brushpens in main art piece

Last 5 mins - Wrap up and photos

Material: Brushpens, some rough sheets of paper for practice 8-10, a smooth sheet of thick paper a4 size for the final artwork, pencil, eraser, scale, black gel pen and (optional) some colors for the background. You can use Brushpens from any brand - Camlin/ Add gel/ Brustro etc, and you can use a4 printing paper or notebook papers for practice, but you need smooth paper (e.g. hot pressed watercolor paper or thick smooth sketchbook paper) to create final artwork.

For best results, for the final artwork, it is preferable to use hot press watercolor paper.

Please be ready with all required materials at least 5-10 mins before the start of the session. Make sure to register using the participants name, email and phone number (on which whatsapp is functional). Please note the all timings are in IST (which is GMT+5:30hrs).

Late entries are not allowed. Please familiarise yourself with Zoom and its usage so you can join in on time, and have no trouble during the session. Zoom link will be sent to you 10 mins before the start of the session on whatsapp on the number you provided during registration. 

Important T&C: The ticket price is per user per session. For example, if two people are attending using one login, please pay for 2 people. This ticket is valid only for the said date and time and cannot be used for other workshops. Videos not included. Non-refundable. Tickets once booked, cannot be cancelled/ rescheduled/refunded.
