Hand Lettering Workshop for Beginners, Oct 2nd, Sun 11am

Join us for a beginner's session on Hand-lettering where we take you through different ways of drawing letters and decorating them using different shapes and elements. Handlettering is different from Calligraphy in that we 'draw' letters in handlettering vs 'writing' letters in calligraphy. So if you want to learn to decorate your writings with different elements and make your written artwork more interesting and add some character to it, this is a great way for you to get started! Once you know these simple tricks you can create your own hand-lettered artworks, birthday cards, name plates, wall murals.

Please note that brush lettering is different from hand lettering. If you want to learn brush lettering / modern calligraphy there is a separate workshop for that. This workshop is on hand-lettering basics.

About the Instructor: Sai Priya Mahajan is an Indian Contemporary Artist who recently won the Outstanding Watercolor Award at the Boldbrush Contest. An engineering graduate from IIT Bombay, she has now exhibited in India (Mumbai, Bangalore, Chandigarh) as well as internationally (NY, Philadelphia - USA, Toronto-Canada, Taipei-Taiwan) and is part of several Art Associations including the International Watercolor Society, Philadelphia Watercolor Society, National Watercolor Society, USA and a lifetime member of the Art Society of India. Sai loves to share the joy of painting by teaching various art forms and has conducted many art workshops in the past.

Rough Schedule

First 5 mins - Intro & Demo

Next 45 mins - Basic elements of Hand lettering & letter design

Next 30 mins - Making artwork using techniques learnt

Last 15 mins - Wrap up and photos

Material: you have to arrange for this on your own, though you don't need a lot for this. Just some rough sheets of paper for practice 8-10, a gel pen or ball pen preferably black in color, pencil, eraser, scale and sketchpens (optional).

Please be ready with all required materials at least 5-10 mins before the start of the session. Register using the participants name, email & phone number, on which whatsapp is functional, this is where all communication will be sent. Please note that all timings are in IST (GMT+5:30hrs).

Late entries are not allowed. Please familiarise yourself with Zoom and its usage so you can join in on time, and have no trouble during the session. Zoom link will be sent to you 10 mins before the start of the session on whatsapp.

Important T&C: Ticket price is per user per session. For example, if two people are attending using one login, please pay for 2 people. Participants have to keep their videos on during the session. This ticket is valid only for the said date and time and cannot be used for other workshops. Videos recording of the session is not included. Non-refundable. Tickets once booked, cannot be cancelled/ rescheduled/refunded
